Today I got an email that our launch is just 6 WEEKS away!! As my time home comes to an end, I find myself more and more eager to be with my squad in Gainesville. Every day I find myself wishing that I could leave home now, but the Lord keeps reminding me that I must be patient.

I was listening to a podcast a few days ago and the speaker said something along the lines of, “If you don’t see this season as a gift, then you don’t see it from God’s perspective.” The Lord quickly humbled me by revealing the sinful nature of my heart through my lack of contentment I have in this season of waiting to launch for the race. I easily allow my mind to follow the belief that God is only going to work in amazing ways when I go on the race. Why do I have such little faith that He is also working now, with the same power as He will be for all of eternity? This season of waiting is not here by accident. The Lord has placed responsibilities and opportunities to grow in front of me that he has called me to be a good steward of.

James 4:13-15 says “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.'”

So if we are not guaranteed tomorrow, then this season that we are all in must have purpose, right? God did not call us to wait for special opportunities to serve Him in order to have fullness of life. We can have fullness of life now, in this very season that God has placed us in, because it is a gift. Use this season of life, no matter what it is to prepare you for your future in Christ. If He is all powerful as He promised, then He can work with the same power here that He can at any time in the future. He deserves every ounce of our trust in that fact.

We must continually pray for Christ’s perspective, because if we lack His perspective, then the only other option is to have the world’s skewed perspective on life.

I feel like we are always getting the reminder to trust in the Lord throughout every season among Christian circles, and this can start to feel like a repetitive topic. However, I hope that what the Lord has been teaching me can be a sweet reminder to you as well. Meditate on the Lord’s faithfulness and goodness! Take the time to consider the condition of your heart before the Lord, and allow Him to reveal to you the areas where you need to find contentment.

Thank you for all of the support I have received so far, both in prayer and financially! I continue to lean on the Lord for provision in fundraising, but I know that if it is His will for me to go on this trip, then He will provide the means for me to go. Please continue to pray that I can trust Him and know that He is in complete control without becoming lazy during the process!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
